Wellbeing, Therapies & Counselling for Carers
The pressures of the caring role can feel unique and different to the pressures other people face.
Credu has taken a number of counsellors and therapeutic providers through the same training Credu staff receive.
If you would like to access support from any of these people, they can be contacted directly below, or via Credu (0333 014 3377 / carers@credu.cymru).
If you need financial support to access this, please contact Credu to register as an Unpaid Carer or contact your Outreach Worker if you are already registered.
Jess Cox

I offer sessions either face to face in Cardigan or online via Microsoft Teams. My name is Jess and I am a qualified integrative counsellor with a Foundation Degree in Counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP and have been volunteering with Credu since 2022. As an integrative counsellor, I use a blend of approaches rooted in person-centred and humanistic principles. My work is led by the client and tailored to their individual needs, with a focus on empowering individuals to move toward their own version of growth and fulfilment. I have a professional background in healthcare, which has deeply shaped my ability to offer empathy, compassion, and unconditional positive regard. I have completed additional training in bereavement and grief, online and telephone counselling, and autism awareness to support neurodivergent clients. I work ethically and professionally in line with the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. My name is Jess and I qualified as a person-centred Counsellor in 2024. I have a lot of listening work experience, especially with young people through my role as a Youth Worker. I offer a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace, rooted in the core conditions of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. I believe that each person has the capacity for change and self-understanding when truly heard and accepted. I can work with people Face to Face in the Therapy Cabin in Machynlleth or online via Zoom. Would you like to talk with someone who will really listen to you? My role as your Counsellor is to create a calm reflective space for you to open up and explore what's important to you. Like a seed naturally knows how to grow towards the light, I believe that you have the wisdom and resources to move towards living a fulfilling life. There may be rocks in the way, like ill-heath, pain, loneliness, grief, fear and loss. Together, we can look at the issues that are troubling you, and start to find a way for you to navigate your way forward. You have already taken the first step on your journey of hope by seeking help. Contact me for a free chat and see if you would like to continue exploring your hopes, concerns and options with me. I am based in North Wales and so am able to work on the telephone or online via Zoom. My relationship with Credu began in 2021 and feels as strong today as it has since we first met. As well as my more recent counselling offer, I have worked with people with Learning Disabilities since 2003. This has included individuals and their carers – some family, some friends and some in other unique caring relationships. I trained for counselling at Wrexham University and work in a Person-centred way. Working in a way that makes sense to each person I meet; that is what matters most. And at times when perhaps nothing feels like it makes sense, we can even sit together with that. There's a book I really like called “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.” At one point Mole says, “I think everyone is just trying to get home.” Later, Boy asks, “What is the bravest thing you've ever said?” “Help,” said Horse. It may take courage to ask for help, but trying to get home is a worthwhile cause. Contact via email: chrisspree@protonmail.com Or via phone: 07564 044549
