About the Event

Those working independently are more likely to feel on their own. We want to make sure that you feel valued and supported, and feel you are able to continue to provide excellent support! Join us to share your experiences, celebrate what’s working and make things better for you.

This is for you if you describe yourself as:

  • a private carer
  • a personal assistant (or PA)
  • a self-employed care worker
  • a self-employed support worker
  • a self-employed PA
  • a microenterprise
  • a self-employed live-in care worker
  • an independent care and support professional
  • an independent support worker
  • (or any combination of the above!)

Whether you look after adults or children, this is for you.

We are NACAS (the National Association of Care and Support Workers), Credu (a charity supporting unpaid and family carers in Powys) and Powys Community Catalysts (an organisation focussing on the development of small enterprises offering homecare or help at home). We would like to invite you to drop in for a conversation with us and other care and support workers about your experiences, in your work generally and including through Covid-19, about the professional issues that you may be facing.

Why come? Because there will be helpful suggestions and ideas in the conversation; there will be listening ears, support and empathy; and also we are organisations working to create change at county and national level, so we need to hear from people in the profession about what’s a challenge for you and what could be improved.

Please drop in on the hour at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm or 5pm on Thursday 11th February; after a round of introductions around the “room”, it will be an informal conversation about your experience and your stories. Our conversation will be confidential, and your anonymity will be preserved in any information we act on to influence change in Powys.
