Young Carers and Adult Carers need your support!

Credu (which is pronounced ‘cre-dee’) means believe in Welsh
We have been supporting carers since 2003.
We believe in people: their skills, abilities and talents, and the resilience they display in everyday life.
We believe in the invaluable contributions carers make to their loved ones and their communities.
We believe carers of all ages deserve to thrive and be able to get the most out of life.
We believe no-one needs to do this on their own.
We believe in supporting carers by connecting them with whatever they need to live to their full potential.
Examples of support we give:

Practical Information
One to one support / having someone there to listen
Young / Adult Carer groups and trips
A range of exciting and interesting sessions for different ages on crafts / arts / wellbeing / rights
Raising awareness and support in schools / communities
I Care Card / Young Carers ID Cards
Do you look after someone with a health condition and / or disability?
Then you matter too!

How We Can Help You
Am I a Young Carer? 14 and under
You are a Young Carer if you live in Powys, are 18 or under, and help look after someone who is unwell or disabled. This could be a parent / brother / sister or other relative. Some young carers help with cooking / cleaning / dressing; some help comfort the person they look after, and help make them feel better. Sometimes it can feel so great to help another person, sometimes it can be worrying and a struggle to juggle with school and time for fun.
Am I a Young Adult Carer? 14 - 25
You are a Young Adult Carer if you are 14 – 25 and help look after someone who is unwell or disabled. This could be a parent / brother / sister or other relative. Some young carers help with cooking / cleaning / dressing; some help comfort the person they look after, and help make them feel better. Sometimes it can feel so great to help another person, sometimes it can be very challenging to care whilst to juggling so many changes in your life such education / training / university / a social life / moving home.
Am I a Carer / Adult Carer? 25+
If you look after a family member of friend who is unwell or disabled, then you are a Carer. This might be your child / spouse / parent or other relative / friend. Adult Carers are important to families and communities, which can be both rewarding and challenging in all sorts of ways, both practical and emotional.
At Credu we believe in you. We think carers of all ages are amazing. We love to listen to you and support you with what is important to you in a way that works for you, whether you just need some basic information or if you want to work through some complicated challenges.
